Narratives Artist Residency :  Conversations Series III

"Conversations Series III: Narratives  exhibition The Lowry is the culmination of a 20 week residency that brought together 12 artists at Venture Arts both from the studio and an open call,  the aim being to develop shared ideas and create new art work: We were all based in Greater Manchester and collectively explored personal histories, cultural heritage and stories. Through our explorations, we found connections between us.

A collaborative approach to making art was at the core of this 20-week residency. After discovering a shared Jewish German heritage with Venture Arts artist Sarah Lee, we were based in Manchester Jewish Museum during our residency. Together we explored our grandparents' connection with World War Two and the Holocaust, exploring family archives, photographs and keepsakes.
